As an amateur naturalist with a passion for ethnobotany, I began photographing native wildflowers in 2005. I soon expanded my subjects to include arthropods and other "critters," an area of interest which has blossomed into something close to an obsession. I've been a member of the BugGuide community since 2007. I am largely self-taught, having earned a degree in an unrelated field (Anthropology.) My father is a professor of entomology at the University of Georgia, though, so I've had the benefit of his expertise. Currently, I'm living in Athens with my two children, working for the county's Arts and Nature Programming Division.
