I live in Boca Raton, Florida, on a small (1/4 acre) lot with minimal established vegetation. I am (perpetually) in the process of "retrofitting" the yard to a more native-style habitat. We have a couple of foundation trees (Lysiloma latisiliquum, host plant to a few sulphur butterflies; Gumbo Limbo, attractive to native pollinators; Sabal Palmetto), but very little else.
I'm continually amazed at how useful the pool is at capturing specimens; both the pool fence and the floaties in the pool are continually full of new fauna for me to learn about!
