Biography:

I am a Canadian PhD Student studying beetle evolution and diversity at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and have been into 'bugs' and nature since childhood. While at university I began to get into the technical stuff like learning names and morphology. I am an avid collector with a focus on my favourite group: Staphylinidae. My favourite collecting methods are sifting and pyrethrin fogging. I have been to Bolivia and Costa Rica for field study.

I have a wide variety of research interests that include applied entomology, forest ecology, biodiversity and systematics.
I recently finished a masters involving the applied ecology and diagnostics of Staphylinidae. One of the products from this masters was a publication for the Canadian Journal of Arthropod Identification. (http://www.biology.ualberta.ca/bsc/ejournal/ejournal.html).

I really enjoy this site and owe much to this community for the knowledge and enthusiasm it provides.

Happy collecting and observing,
