Mike Ferro, Contributor
Full name:
Mike Ferro
Biography:

I'm at Louisiana State University. Presently my research is centered on beetles in rotting wood (saproxylic Coleoptera). My photos of small beasts are taken with a Syncroscopy, Auto Montage system.

The specimens collected in pitfall traps at Feliciana Preserve, Louisiana are residue (bycatch) specimens from a study I’m doing on the effect of dead wood abundance on beetles. I’m taking quick pics of the interesting stuff that I won’t have time to key out. Many thanks for ID help.

Shameless plug for a book I helped edit:

Dragonflies and Damselflies of Louisiana. 2010. Photography by Gayle and Jeanell Strickland, edited by M. Ferro, K. Parys, and M. Gimmel. Available on Amazon.com here
