My father has always had a facination with insects, especially butterflies. While growing up, we would go out hiking, looking for caterpillars and raise them at home. Monarchs are his favorite, and still, every summer the entire dining room is set up for raising the monarchs. (My mother is a very understanding woman!) Sometimes he has some black swallowtails in there just to mix things up. A big thrill for me back then was when we found a hickory horned devil. My father has really influenced my love of insects and insect photography.
