I retired in 2008 as the oceanographer and Leader of the Storm Surge Team at the National Hurricane Center.

I have been taking pictures for more than sevendecades, and I am still learning how to do so.

I live surrounded by a garden of native Florida plants. My wife is the gardener. We have observed more than forty species of butterflies in the garden, including some rare varieties. We are active in our local NABA Chapter. A selection of our butterfly photos is at:
