Biography:

I became interested in photography in the summer of 2006 and quickly found macro insect photography to be tremendously interesting. My wife gets somewhat frustrated that I take 1000x more photos of insects than I do our children, however, in my defense, the insects are more likely to cooperate.

Most of my macro work finds me shooting with a Pentax K20d, Pentax ring flash, and an old Kiron 105mm 1:1 manual focus macro lens. All of my photographs are taken hand-held in field.

Since joining bug guide I have developed an interest in bees and wasps as well as their mimics, especially bee flies. I am located in the unique Florida sand scrub ridge, close to a major biological research station, and I hope to be able to photograph insects unique to this habitat.

I am very grateful to the tremendously supportive bug guide community, especially all the experts who graciously share their time and knowledge. Placing my photos under creative commons is my way of following that example.

If you find a use for one of my photos, great! If you take a moment and let me know where you are using it, I would be most grateful. If you have a project and need a larger file size of the image, let me know and I would be happy to help out.
