Insects have been an interest to me from childhood. Growing up on a small farm in central Indiana there were lots of plants and insects to see. And with a naturalist for a mother, I learned not only the common names of plants and insects, but a few scientific ones also. I was active in 4-H entomology which led me to 2 degrees in entomology. Working in agriculture helped me develop more knowledge about plant and insect interactions. Currently I take care of my family, garden, photograph, and volunteer as time allows.

Much of my time is spent sharing that insect and plant knowledge by volunteering in my local community as well as state and nationally. Insect ID has taught me about many insects I never knew existed, so I am looking forward to learning the thousands more that I do not know!
