Biography:

Insects have been an interest of mine since childhood. Growing up on a small dairy farm in central Indiana, there were lots of plants and insects to see. And with a naturalist mother, I learned not only the common names of plants and insects, but some scientific ones also. I was active in 4-H entomology which led me to 2 degrees in entomology. Working in agriculture helped me develop more knowledge about plant and insect interactions. Currently I take care of my family and garden, photograph critters, and volunteer as time allows.

Much of my time is spent sharing insect and plant knowledge by volunteering in my local community as well as state and nationally. Doing insect ID on North American websites has taught me about many insects I never knew existed. I am looking forward to learning more of the thousands of insects that I do not know!
