Full name:
Mark Dreiling
City, state, country:
Santee, CA
Biography:

Retired after career as a physicist doing materials research in the petroleum and petrochemicals industry and am now catching up with other areas of interest.
I use the images at the Moth Photographers Group for my tentative identifications and rely on experts such as Bob Patterson at BugGuide for IDs/confirmation.
While in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, John Nelson and John Fisher checked IDs for inclusion in the Oklahoma Moths list .
From August 2008 until May 2012, I submitted about 4700 moths to Paul Hebert at the University of Guelph for his DNA barcoding effort. Moths DNA info link
About 1160 species were sorted out. That led to many new moth identifications.
From 2013 on, I am living in Santee, CA at the northern end of Santee Lakes and looking for new moths. Many unidentified are here Santee Unidentified
