Full name:
Jack Owicki
City, state, country:
Palo Alto, CA
Biography:

I'm formally trained as a biophysical chemist but am a life-long field naturalist by avocation.

As a docent with the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (openspace.org) and Stanford University's Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve, I often help lead hikes that feature arthropods. Especially arachnids.

I belong to the American Arachnological Association and the International Society of Arachnology.

Regular BugGuide contributor dbrusco and I have given several training sessions on spiders to local (SF Peninsula) docent groups.

I also do quite a bit of wildlife photography (see symbiote.smugmug.com).
