Biography:

I am a Biology professor at Western Washington University, where I teach courses in Entomology, Ecology, and Evolutionary Biology, and curate the WWU Insect Collection. My research interests focus on the ecology, evolution, and diversity of insects, and has included work on butterflies, moths, beetles, planthoppers, aphids, ants, and bees. More recently, my work has focused on making knowledge about insect diversity more broadly available, which I have done through my involvement with the Pacific Northwest Moths website (http://pnwmoths.biol.wwu.edu) and through Pacific Northwest Insects, a field guide recently published by Seattle Audubon Society (for more info, see pacificnorthwestinsects.com).
