Degrees in Forestry & Forest Entomology from University of Michigan. Did postdoctoral work studying Ichneumonidae with Henry Townes from 1967 through 1969. Worked for Systematic Entomology Laboratory covering Ichneumonidae from 1969 to 1980, when I took an assignment at the ARS Asian Parasite Laboratory in Japan to work on obtaining natural enemies of immigrant pests in the USA. Moved APL to Korea in 1982. Returned to SEL in 1985, working at first on computer support with identification duties as well. Later became head of the Communications & Taxonomic Services Unit, from which position I retired in January, 2007.
