I have a BS in Biology and work as a wildlife biologist in Santa Barbara County, CA; I enjoy photographing inverts and trying to match them up with an ID. I'm fairly proficient with California grasshoppers and butterflies, but my knowledge is somewhat spotty on other taxa so I appreciate all feedback, especially if I have something wrong :o)
My primary invert photography equipment consists of a Canon 5D Mark III, a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro (for subjects over 2 cm), a Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5X Macro (for subjects under 2 cm), and a Canon MT-24EX Macro Twin Lite Flash. Most of my shots are handheld and taken in the field. I use Adobe Lightroom for post-processing and curation.
Note to editors etc.: Most of the older images I've uploaded to BugGuide have been limited to a maximum of 560 pixels on a side. If you feel a larger image would benefit the guide, comment and I'll replace (if I have a larger image available).
