Biography:

A huge thank you to all the editors here who have helped me ID my photos over the years and shared my enthusiasm for tiny creatures!

My name is Brandon Woo and I have been passionate about insects for most of my life. My main interest is the taxonomy and systematics of the Orthoptera, but I am broadly interested in anything alive. I enjoy observing, collecting, photographing, and rearing insects; I also enjoy traveling to different places and getting to know the local natural history. I am a member of the Maine Entomological Society (MES) and the Orthopterist's Society, and am proud to have joined BugGuide in July 2010.

I recently graduated from Cornell University, where I studied entomology and natural history. I worked in the insect collection there for 4 years, fully curating their Orthoptera and related orders.

I am also active on iNaturalist, where I upload my photos of vertebrates, plants, fungi, and arthropods from outside the region covered by BugGuide, and also help out with Orthoptera identifications. My iNat page is here and my observations can be viewed and searched here.
