I am an amateur naturalist who started with love of outdoors and has advanced from identifying birds, plants, through butterflies. I had early interests in photography too, but with binoculars and tripod, I fell behind on camera technology. My interests converged in 2009 when I bought my first digital SLR and started on a mission to identify the bees on our property in southern Lehigh County. It only took a week before I moved beyond bees. My husband, a horticulturist and specialist in native landscape and meadow design, has created a pollinator paradise on our property.
I have much to learn to improve my bug photos which I now understand to require incredible skill and patience. I am also readjusting my expectations about what I can expect to identify. Any guidance or suggestions are welcome.
