I am an amateur naturalist fascinated with the great diversity of the natural world. An early interest in birds has led to an exploration of many other aspects of the great outdoors. I am also a degreed horticulturist working in the area of residential landscape design, with an emphasis on environmentally beneficial landscapes. My interest in “bugs” has been fueled by my wife Karen (see her profile for further information) who has developed a real passion for photographing and documenting the great diversity of bugs that we find on our property that features a great diversity of native plants and over 2 acres of natural meadow. I am an amateur photographer at best with much to learn and a great respect for the many outstanding photos to be found on this site.

Equipment: Nikon D5000 body; Lenses: Nikon 85mm 1:3.5G macro, Nikon 55-200 1:4-5.6G zoom and the 18-55mm “kit” zoom
