Biography:

Born in 1965, I worked on a promissing (though not-so-promissing in respect to employment) career as taxonomist with specialisations in Diptera and Southeast-Asian cicadas. Previously I worked as an entomological lab manager but now am the biology curator at the Maastricht Natural History Museum. That means I am mainly occupied with the exhibitions and collction managemnt, but will have some time for research as well. I still run the diptera.info and online-keys.net websites. A few other websites, an Empidoidea 'Scratchpad' and one giving the checklist of the Diptera of the Netherlands (of which I was the editor and main contributor) are still in preparation.
