I'm a software developer with an interest in photography and nature. I contributed the data mapping function to BugGuide and hope to expand its capabilities in the future.

I'm not a bug expert but I try to be careful with IDs. My main interest is moths. I recently helped move Moth Photographers Group to a database-based architecture.

I currently shoot with a Canon 20D, 100mm macro lens, and accessories.

I created a BugGuide-style site for birds: birdsite.org. Please stop by if you are looking to ID birds or have some photos to share.

All of my bug images on BugGuide with dimensions of 560x560 pixels or less are released under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5 License. Images larger than 560 pixels in either dimension and any images containing people are All Rights Reserved.
