Biography:

I am a lifelong herpetology hobbyist who has recently expanded my interests in naturalism to include “backyard” entomology. I first became interested in entomology when I photographed a strange looking bug on my back porch. While researching the bug on the internet I found my way to bugguide.net and quickly received a positive ID. The specimen turned out being a robber fly (Laphria grossa). Since that time I have been hooked on bugguide.net! I am now working on a project with my 13-year-old daughter to photograph and catalog all the bug species we find in our backyard. Our insect life-list continues to grow every day through the indulgence and generosity of the experts on bugguide.net!
