I'm a nature enthusiast whose eyes were opened to the world of arthropods during the summer of 2011. Since then, I've taken up photography in an effort to get to know all the little (and not so little) creatures around me better. Particularly spiders! I've been away from BugGuide and spidering for several years, but am hoping to get back into it and slowly catch up on what I've missed!
I always strive to have no negative impact on my subjects and to that end I never kill or otherwise harm them. I will sometimes move them for a shot, and have been known to hang onto them for a bit (in particular, rearing sub-adult spiders). I make sure to put them back in the area I found them afterwards.
Due to the shallow depth of field that comes with high magnification, I focus stack whenever I can get away with it.
