Interested in studying the natural world from an early age. I collected insects as a childhood pastime, and began to seriously pursue their study in 2016. I joined the University of Guelph Insect Systematics Laboratory, where I studied the fireflies of Ontario and ultimately completed a M.Sc. under Dr. Stephen A. Marshall, publishing a review of the Neotropical sphaerocerid fly genus Aptilotella (Diptera: Sphaeroceridae: Limosininae).
I joined BG photodocumenting insects using a Canon PowerShot A700, transitioned to a Canon EOS D450 (Digital Rebel XSi), and now use a 60D with the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 IS USM Macro and Speedlite 580EX II.
