First and foremost thanks to all the editors and other people who help with any id's. I don't thank individual id's understanding people don't want their email clogged but I can assure you I am very thankful.
I have been keeping track of moths at my house now for a year now and just went over the 260 species mark. What a wonderful diversity of critters!
I am new to moth id but have work in traditional taxonomy of bryophytes and genetic taxonomy of everything from fungi to flatworms. I have been a long time birdwatcher and decided to try and put a name to a few of the moths (and other insects) I have found since moving to Canada. I am amazed at the diversity I have found so far. Together with my 6 year old son we are having a wonderful time "moth hunting". Thanks for all the id help and the wonderful website. I hope some of my photos can be of use to others.
