I am a retired great-grandmother.I graduated with a BA (Biology and Chemistry)and later a BSC(Pharmacy). I worked briefly as a hospital pharmacist but after the birth of my fourth child left the structured work force. My husband and I have had a cabin on Savary Island,BC in Georgia Straight for over 40 years. It was after retirement when I discovered the ephemeral spring flowers on the island that I acquired my first digital camera. Until I found BugGuide, the identification of my photographs has been made primarily by E-Flora BC and E-Fauna BC website specialists. An opportunistic arthropod photographer , I tend to wait for specimens to come to me rather than seek them out. However,as an under graduate I did work one summer with mosquitoes in the Canadian Department of Agriculture, Insect Physiology Section. For the last twelve winters, I have participated in Project Feederwatch, but that's birds not bugs.
